01 / Set your direction
Plan from three things you already know.
A useful month does not start with a pile of post prompts. First, gather what you already know about the people you serve, what your business can offer this month, and how you want to sound when you talk about it.
Audience
Listen for a real question.
Note what customers ask before buying, booking, visiting, or choosing between options. Use questions you have actually heard or clearly label a prompt as a planning hypothesis.
Offer or message
Choose what matters now.
List a current service, product, seasonal detail, opening, or useful piece of expertise. Be specific about what is actually available and what needs checking before a post goes live.
Business voice
Give every draft a cue.
Pick a few plain-language cues such as neighbourly, knowledgeable, calm, or playful. Add one phrase you use and one kind of wording you would avoid.
02 / Make the worksheet
Turn each idea into a dated content item.
Copy one row for each item you decide to make. You can keep the worksheet in a notes app, spreadsheet, or calendar. Leave a field open when you still need to confirm a detail; do not fill gaps with a claim you cannot support.
- Date
- Choose a day that fits your real schedule.
- Audience need or question
- What are people trying to understand, choose, or solve?
- Offer or message
- What useful point or current offer belongs in this item?
- Voice cue
- Which one or two words describe how this should sound?
- Format
- Post and caption, promotional graphic, or short-video idea/script?
- Intended action
- What should someone do next: save, ask, visit, compare, or inquire?
Reusable blank rows
Duplicate a row for each date you choose. Adapt the number of rows to your time and capacity; there is no proven posting quota to meet.
- 1. Date: ______ · Audience need: ______ · Offer/message: ______ · Voice cue: ______ · Format: ______ · Intended action: ______
- 2. Date: ______ · Audience need: ______ · Offer/message: ______ · Voice cue: ______ · Format: ______ · Intended action: ______
- 3. Date: ______ · Audience need: ______ · Offer/message: ______ · Voice cue: ______ · Format: ______ · Intended action: ______
- 4. Date: ______ · Audience need: ______ · Offer/message: ______ · Voice cue: ______ · Format: ______ · Intended action: ______
03 / See it filled in

04 / Shape the handoff
Turn one plan into posts, graphics, and short video.
Keep the same audience need and message, then choose a format that fits the idea and the time you have. The following examples use the fictional shop from the sample calendar.
Post and caption
Answer one useful question.
Illustrative caption
New to plant care? Before choosing a plant, think about where it will live and check the light and care notes on its label. Save these questions for your next shop visit.
Adapt the wording to your own advice and voice, and confirm any care details before publishing.
Promotional graphic
Make the offer easy to understand.
Fictional graphic copy
New for spring
See what has arrived, then ask us which care notes to check for your space.
Ask in the shop
Before using a promotion, confirm the item, availability, dates, and any terms. This sample makes no real availability claim.
Short-video idea and script
Use three simple scenes.
- Scene 1 — show a spot at home: “Where will your new plant live?”
- Scene 2 — show a care label: “What light reaches that spot?”
- Scene 3 — return to the plant: “Bring those questions along, and we can look at the care notes together.”
Add readable on-screen text, keep the spoken line natural, and invite viewers to take one next step that your business can actually support.
Keep it workable
Set a cadence your business can maintain.
The five dated entries above are an example to adapt, not a posting quota or a proven formula. If you have less time, choose a smaller number of useful items or reuse one confirmed idea in a caption and a graphic. If you have more capacity, add dates only when you have something useful to share and enough time to review it.
